Privacy policy

What this site knows about you (almost nothing), why, and your rights. Updated October 2026.

In short

We don’t store cookies in your browser, we don’t track what you do on the site, and we never sell or share data. We only process the data you choose to send us.

Who is responsible

The Cultura no Muro cultural association, which made and runs this site. For any question about your data, email direito.habitacao@proton.me.

What data we process, and why

  • Visiting the site. As on any website, our server logs the IP address, browser and pages requested. These logs are used only for security and to fix faults, are kept for a short time and are never used to build profiles. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in keeping the site secure and working (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
  • Writing to us. If you email us, we use your name, email address and message only to reply and, if you ask, to put you in touch with a group near you. We delete them when they are no longer needed or whenever you ask. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in replying to people who contact us and, for putting you in touch with a group, your consent.
  • What gets published. Protests and news are public information. We don’t publish anyone’s personal data without their consent.

Cookies

If you are just visiting, the site does not store cookies or any other information in your browser, so it doesn’t need to ask for your consent. The language is chosen from the address (/en/, /es/…). Only the people who run the site receive the WordPress session cookies, which are needed to stay logged in and are deleted when they log out.

External services

The pages load nothing from other companies: fonts and images are served from our own server. Some links take you to other sites (the map on OpenStreetMap, Instagram, the websites of other organisations). Once you follow them, their own privacy policies apply. The calendar file (.ics) is downloaded to your device and is not shared with anyone.

The Left Hand Rotation films on the home page and on “The crisis” page only load from Vimeo if you press “Watch the film”. From then on, Vimeo may store cookies in your browser, and Vimeo’s privacy policy (opens in a new tab) applies.

Who has access

Only Cultura no Muro and the hosting company, which processes data solely on our behalf. We do not sell, rent or share data with anyone else.

The texts of protests and news, which are public, are translated automatically by Mistral AI, a French company. No data about people who visit the site or write to us is ever sent to it.

Your rights

You can ask to access, correct or delete your data, to restrict or object to its use, to receive it in a portable format, and to withdraw any consent you gave. Write to direito.habitacao@proton.me and we will reply within one month. You can also complain to the Portuguese data protection authority, the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (CNPD).

Security

The site uses an encrypted connection (HTTPS), and only the Cultura no Muro team can manage its content.

Changes and translations

If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of the page. It was written in Portuguese; translations are there to make it easier to read, and if in doubt the Portuguese version applies.
